Most use a sizable amount of ink for initial setup, primarily to fill the printhead, so the bundled ink will yield fewer pages than the same amount of replacement ink. For most tank printers, you can find a statement on the website or spec sheet estimating a span of months or years, with a footnote saying the claim is based on a given number of pages per month.
